A little bit about Andrew Smalt

First of all I would just like to thank you for taking an interest in my site and hope you enjoy everything. My name is obviously Andrew Smalt and I was born and raised in Leesburg, FL. I am 28 years old at present and try to enjoy all walks of life. I have always been partial to photography and computer design. It has only been within the past 3 years that I have actually been able to take my photography to the next level and really examine the world at a different view. I enjoy taking pictures of all things and try to point out what might have previously been overlooked by the everyday passer by. Over the past 3 years I have been blessed with being able to acquire alot of equipment that I might not ever had a chance to get in the past. It has been able to give me a better understanding of photography and the study of light. I am currently using a Nikon D2x and Nikon D70 and absolutely love both of them. I have been able to capture lots of images and get more creative every time that I use my cameras. I currently have been specializing in Available light, Sports, Children and Nature photography. I am working on expanding my skills into Food, Portraiture, Pets and commercial photography. I have been fortunate enough that in my current profession that I am able to travel all over the United States and Canada. This has given me the opportunity to photograph many different landscapes and things other people might not be able to do. I feel that this has also contributed to my photography skills and also given me a better understanding and sense of the world around us. I am hoping to one day bring these skills into a career and a personal business as something that I really enjoy doing. As a child myself I played soccer, baseball and football. I think these skills learned as a child are what help me to better understand sport photography also. Being a player gives you a little insight to what to expect from other players and foresee what they might do on that next step or throw. This is why I love to do sports photography and the fast pace that it brings. Nature is also another choice of mine because it is so peaceful and untouched by today’s modern world. When you’re on top of a mountain or deep woods hiking and all you can hear is the birds or the trees blowing in the wind that is quite relaxing. There is no car, worldly possessions or amount of money that can set you at peace with yourself more than that. But you have to sit back and observe. That is why being able to photograph the moment not only gives a sense of self but also a calming from the everyday rigors of life.  Well with all that said already, I could go on and on.
